Onderzoeksresultaten

De training is gebaseerd op wetenschappelijke inzichten van de laatste vijftien jaar, namelijk dat hersenfuncties te trainen zijn en dat de effecten van training ook na enige tijd blijven bestaan (Klingberg, 2010). Ook heeft onderzoek naar het effect van beloningen bij kinderen met ADHD bijgedragen aan de ontwikkeling van een training met game-elementen (Prins et al., 2011; Dovis et al., 2012). De eerste onderzoeksresultaten van Braingame Brian bij kinderen met ADHD zijn positief. Niet alleen op de getrainde taken zelf gaan de kinderen significant vooruit, maar ook verbeteren hun cognitieve vaardigheden en nemen volgens de rapportage van hun ouders hun ADHD-gedragskenmerken af (Ten Brink et al., 2011; Van der Oord et al., 2012).
